spring feels like it has arrived and i am just loving it.  i want to be outside all the time and i can't wait until the trees start to get green and the flowers start to bloom.  we went to a park in our town which is quickly becoming our absolute favorite park to go to.  we discovered it this past fall and i'm super excited to see how it looks in full bloom.  it's a short drive from our apartment so i'm pretty sure it's going to be our go-to spot this spring/summer.  this time we went during golden hour, which the light beaming through the trees looks so heavenly!

we spent a couple hours at the park and then headed home to have dinner.  husband cooked chicharones de pollo (small pieces of fried chicken) and tostones (twice fried plantains).  such a typical puerto rican dish and it was so, so good!  then we watched the walking dead, because it was a sunday and that's what we do on sundays ;)

with spring officially being only 5 days away, i can't help but dream of all the dresses i want to add to my growing collection!  i'm pretty sure junior hates most of my dresses because they are all full of colors and flowers.  he's a little bit more on the basic side when it comes to clothes.  i really just can't help myself! i love a good statement piece ;)

i got this dress for our recent trip to puerto rico and immediately fell in love with it.  it is so light weight and airy.  it was absolutely perfect for a day out shopping and exploring the town of ponce.  unfortunately it is sold out now but i did link of few of my favorites below for your shopping pleasure ;)

i can't wait to wear this dress again.  i have a feeling it's going to be on repeat this spring!  i've been looking for similar dresses online lately because one just cannot have enough dresses!  whenever i'm online "window" shopping (you know, when you add a million things to your cart, see the total, laugh and then "x" out of the browser...) i'm always choosing flowy dresses with flower patterns.  creature of habit over here.  i actually just picked a new one up from h&m this recently and i'm so excited to wear it!!

i've made a conscious effort to want to explore new jersey a little more.  we have found so many beautiful places that we never even knew existed.  a few weekends back, we took a short drive over to the paterson great falls.  i was actually so surprised when we arrived because it was just so beautiful!!  i had never seen the falls and to have such a natural beauty so close to home (in the middle of a city, nonetheless) was truly breathtaking to see.  a true diamond in the rough.

it was still kind of cold in these parts when we went but that day just so happened to be beautiful.  i think it was an extra nice experience because there weren't too many people around.  we hate going places that are super crowded with people.  we're little spoiled brats that like to feel like we own the place ;)  we spent a good two hours exploring around and i thoroughly enjoyed it.  waterfalls are my favorite, although i do like swimming in them, not just looking at them!

i've started following some jersey pages on instagram to see where the locals are going.  i love getting inspired by different people!  i want to compile a list of different places nearby that i want to check out this spring/summer season.  i'm definitely going to add a few old favorites to the list because some spots you just have to visit more than once!

finally, the much anticipated abandoned warehouse pictures!

i love how moody these photographs are and how the light was captured so perfectly!  it was so fun to play with the lighting and shadows.  i know husband enjoyed it and can't wait to go back.  maybe we'll get the courage to trespass in our own backyard instead of having to go all the way to brooklyn to break the law.  although in jersey, the cops seem to always be around when laws are being broken.  i guess i shouldn't complain too much about that.  laws are not meant to be broken...unless you're just trying to take some awesome photos in an abandoned building.  do ya feel me??

the weather is finally getting warmer over on the east coast so i'm excited to see what adventures we go on and what pictures we're able to take!!

no, this isn't a post about healthy food.  i'm probably not even the person you should turn to when look for advice on how to eat healthy.  hello, pizza lover over here!  ;)

we went to brooklyn the other day to meet up with bobby of this fellow.  we arrived a little bit earlier than scheduled and decided to go get some coffee and hang out while we waited.  we stumbled upon this cute mural in the middle of nowhere.  fruits and veggies on a wall in brooklyn?  ok!  so in true blogger fashion, i had to get photographed in front of it.

i actually love that the wall has a lot of green and i'm wearing green.  that was totally unplanned, obviously, and i think it looks awesome!  i've been seeing a lot of green lately and it's funny because i find myself gravitating towards greens for my wardrobe this season.  although i'm no fashion expert, i feel super cool when i'm on trend!  is green even in this season?  now i'm second guessing myself.  oh well ;)

i'm splitting up the pictures from brooklyn in two posts since they don't have the same feel to them.  i don't think cheery fruit and veggie pictures totally go with dark and dreary warehouse pictures.  wait until you see the shots from the warehouse!  you're going to love them.  well, i hope!  you can always see some sneak peaks over on instagram.
