tips for ordering on shein

July 25, 2018

i always get so many questions about shein since i've been wearing their clothes for such a long time now!  and even before i was working with them, i purchased from them on numerous occasions with my own money.  so needless to say, i am true shein fan and think you should be as well.

are the clothes worth it?
absolutely!  i would say the quality is comparable to forever 21 or even zara.  it's not high end by any means and i don't think the clothes are meant to be worn daily.  if you do wear an item several times a week or even weekly, i can't imagine it lasting longer than a few seasons to a year.  however, if you're a clothes lover like me, and wear certain statement pieces only once or twice a month, your items will certainly last you!

what about the sizing?
always check the item measurements against your measurements.  i have a draft in my "notes" app on my phone with my measurements in every conversion.  this way, i can quickly open up that note and compare my measurements against each item's measurements.  sometimes i wear a extra small in one item and the next item i'm a size medium.  always be mindful of the sizing!

how long does shipping take?
express shipping usually takes 3 to 5 business days from when the package leaves the warehouse (and it can take several days to leave the warehouse).  i wouldn't wait last minute to order something from shein if you need the item right away.  some items might ship separately from others.  they do have certain warehouses around the country and if your item is in one of those, it'll be delivered quicker than if it was coming from  china.  i believe these items are labeled as "priority shipping" so keep that in mind.

a trick that i've learned over the years of wearing clothes from shein is try to get creative where necessary.  for example, when i received this jumpsuit, i ended up hating it at first.  when i tried it on, the torso was too long and was not flattering at all.  but then i threw a belt on it and scrunched the material up a bit, and it looks super cute.  sometimes trying to make it work is better than sending an item back when you have to pay for return shipping ;)
