hello lovelies! here's a list of 8 random things...

1. how adorable is this cold shoulder t shirt? i'm obsessed and it's only $10.00!! what a steal!
2. my face has been breaking out worse than i can ever remember. my usual stuff hasn't been working. i'm debating trying new products recommended to me or going to the dermatologist.
3. speaking of going to the dermatologist, i hate going to doctors. i just hate making appointments and hate going. not sure why.
4. this past friday and saturday felt like spring in february and although i welcome the warm weather with open arms, i am a bit concerned over our environment. it just isn't normal.
5. we got a new tv media cabinet and i am in love. it totally changes the look of our entire tiny apartment!
6. i had a tea party friday night with one of my friends. seriously the best time! talk about #fridaynightturnup
7. junior and i saw the movie get out on saturday. such a great psychological thriller!!! it's not as scary as i thought it was going to be. it just messes with your mind. highly recommend!
8. we also saw a cure for wellness the week before and that was just as good! another movie that messes with your mind!! i always want to say more about these movies that we watch but i never want to spoil it for you guys ;) either way, i highly recommend as well!!

while in los angeles, santa monica had to be one of my favorite areas to visit.  on the day that we went to joshua tree national park, we headed back in to los angeles just in time for golden hour.  junior had the best idea to head straight over to the beach so we can catch the sunset.

i brought this dress with me to shoot at joshua tree but didn't end up using it.  i'm so glad i had it because as soon as junior told me we were going to the beach to watch the sunset (and take pictures, of course!  because what is our life even if we're not shooting ;)  i immediately put this dress on.

once we parked, we had to pretty much run all the way to the ocean because if we took our time, we would have missed it!  and what a gorgeous, gorgeous sight!!!  living on the east coast, there aren't many areas (that i know of anyway) that you can watch the sun set into the ocean like that.  junior was impressed because he said the sky and colors of the sunset in california is different than what he's used to seeing, but he wasn't as impressed as i was.  lucky for him, he grew up on an island so watching the sunset was like a second date for him ;)

hello, loves!

i haven't been sharing pictures and stories from california and i really need to get back on that because i still have so much to share!!

on this day, junior and i went to hollywood boulevard to see the china theater and the hollywood walk of fame.  you know, do the tourist thing.  well, we learned quickly why we don't always like doing touristy thing!

unfortunately, it was not at all what i was expecting.  i guess i didn't realize it would kind of be like times square but super overwhelming.  there were so many people in our faces trying to sell us things like tickets or their own music.  and don't get me wrong, this happens in times square, but i don't ever remember people getting all up in my face.  in the city, they just ask as you walk by.  i don't know, it was very different than what i imagined and certainly not how it looks on tv.  but, you live and you learn ;)

we got a little taste of spring this past weekend and i just can't wait for it to officially be spring!!  we were definitely spoiled with a mild winter this year and that little taste of spring we had just made me so excited for the warmer weather.

junior and i took a drive into the city on saturday and went to the metropolitan museum of art.  i couldn't believe that neither one of us had ever been before!!  i wrote about wanting to have more enriching experiences and looking into different cultural things to do and so we did exactly that!  there is way too much to see there, so we are making it a point to visit more often.  and just a little tip, the entrance fee for the MET is a suggested cost, meaning you can basically name your own price ;)

i originally was going to change my shoes once we got to the museum but i ended up loving my super comfy, boho, effortless look.  typical "casual" outfit for me ;)


i'm also sharing some pieces i'm currently loving for the transition into spring.  i love pairing a flowy dress with a faux leather jacket.  i feel like that's going to be my go to look as the warmer weather is starting to creep in ;)  i provided links below for your shopping convenience.  oh, and don't forget to use the codes provided for extra $$ off!! happy shopping!
