you must remember it too

January 08, 2018

i shared this on my instagram last week, but felt like it should have it's own blog post...

the year is 2007.

i had just met this guy while on vacation the month before. we spent every day on the phone since the day i went home.

on that summer night while on the phone, i climbed out of my window of my mother’s home and sat on the roof. we talked until the morning, until we saw half of the sun forming. we traveled in and out of each other with our words. we shared the night sky because that was the only tangible thing we had in common.

i saw a shooting star and made a wish, to feel as happy as i felt in that moment for the rest of my life.

@rupikaur_ shared this poem on her instagram from her latest book, #thesunandherflowers the other day and it reminded me of this lovely memory that i will cherish for the rest of my life.
