COVID19 is still lingering and there's really no end in sight. i assume it'll become something like the seasonal flu in the coming years. it'll always be around and we just have to learn to live with it, vaccine or not. i think being cautious while we're out is simply the new normal. wearing masks, constantly hand santizing when soap and water are unavailable. honestly, i'm glad. i mean, i tried my best to be cautious, you know, pre-COVID19. i would do things like using a napkin to hold salt shakers, or close a public sink faucet and bathroom door with a piece of paper towel (or my sleeve). i would walk away from people who sneezed or coughed (and if i'm being completely honest, i hold my breath until i'm far enough away to breathe again).
i haven't been out other than a few grocery store runs or the occasional ride to pick up take out and three or four family car rides, where we don't even get out of the car. we just drive around going to our favorite spots just too see what they look like. see other people there, wearing masks (or not wearing masks). standing away from each other (or standing to close together). and if i'm being honest, just wondering when i'll feel brave enough to join them.
in the mean time, i'm loving this new season of life. spending more time indoors with my family, with no pressure to have to rush out. watching new movies, old movies, binging tv series, eating comfort food, building forts in the living room, creating content and spending together but apart time.
here are some looks that i'm wearing while i've been spending more time at home. i've never been just a baggy tee and sweats kind of girl. i always put in effort into what i'm wearing, whether it's going out, weekend looks, work clothes and now home clothes. oh and go enjoy this little TikTok i made that took waaaaaayyyyy tooooo long to create ;)

later today i'm going to make a fort in the living room. kind of like camping inside. i'm going to build it around the tv and set up twinkle lights. i've been thinking about it for a few days now and if you couldn't tell, i'm extremely excited about it. i can't even tell you when the idea came to me because all of the days are meshing together. three plus weeks safe at home will do that to you. i've been in quarantine since march 18, 2020. i've left my apartment only a handful of times; once to pick up my work computer to work from home, twice to go on a family car ride and once to head into the office to get some work done that i couldn't do from home. otherwise the extent of my contact with the outside world consists of taking the trash out or taking indi for a short walk. life as we know it is changing right before our eyes and all we can do is try to survive. survive physically, survive mentally, survive emotionally. doing things like setting up a makeshift studio to take some random pictures to keep the creative juices flowing. washing my hair and putting on makeup with my afternoon pjs to feel like a human. wearing jeans around the house to feel like i actually went somewhere. setting up a fort in the living room with twinkle lights and all of the junk food to have feel like i'm having a new adventure with my husband and puppy.
stay safe and be smart. sending you all the love and strength!

this post is dedicated to all of my latest looks over on instagram. catch volumes 1 through 3 here.
there is currently a pandemic happening. i know you're all aware but in 10 years when i look back to this post, i'd like to remember what was going on. so i felt like i needed to at least mention it. i don't mean to encourage online shopping by sharing links to what i'm wearing. none of us currently know what tomorrow is going to hold so i don't want to encourage unnecessary spending at all. but in the off chance that everything blows over quickly and you wanted to buy something i was recently wearing, you can come back here and shop it. in the mean time, i do want to provide you some outfit inspiration to archive. maybe you'll look back on this post at another time or maybe you want some inspo to get out of your pjs for the day. a lot of us are going to be home for a while. usually when people are home, they don't get dressed up and ready for the day, which i think affects our mental wellbeing. i want to take this time to encourage all of you to continue getting dressed for the day and doing the things that make you happy all while social distancing.
please be smart and stay safe.

get ready to have your mind blown at how easy, delicious and in my opinion, healthy this breakfast is. ready....
1. put some bacon in the oven. i bake mine at 400 for about 10 minutes. done.
2. boil some eggs. literally the easiest way to make eggs.
3. cut up some avocado and smash it on a rice cake and top with whatever the heck you want. this is the "hardest" part of breakfast. i topped mine with everything but the bagel seasoning and lemon. bam. done.
4. slice up some cheddar cheese or bonus points if you have pre-sliced cheese because then it's even easier.
5. put it all on a plate. done and done.
no slaving over a stove. no extra prep work. this is my go-to breakfast to make on lazy weekends and honestly our favorite breakfast to have. also, it's keto friendly (low carb) which is how we eat 80% of the time ;)
buen provecho!
