joshua tree national park

February 10, 2017

hello friends!

today feels like a monday since yesterday was a snow day here on the east coast.  yesterday i planned on putting all my clothes away (because i still hadn't unpacked from my trip to california!!) and then do some fine art shooting with junior.  i only had the energy to unpack and i'm totally ok with that.  sometimes snow days during the week are just what we need ;)

i'm sharing some shots of our time over at joshua tree national park.  i've been wanting to go to this park for as long as i can remember.  i would see pictures online and just dream of the day i can bask in all of that beauty!  when we booked our trip to los angeles, i was so excited to learn it was only a 2 hour car ride!!

junior and i woke up early and were out the door by 6, before the sun was even up.  it was so incredible to drive down the highway, with the sun rising and taking in all of the sights.  there were mountains on either side of us.  we even drove through this intense fog where we couldn't see more than 25 feet in front of us.  and then instantly, it cleared up.

at one point, i started crying to myself because it was a dream come true.  traveling around and exploring is something i wanted to do my entire life.  in that moment, i felt like i had an outer body experience.  the music was playing, my husband was driving and we were headed to a glorious destination.  a dream come true and i couldn't even believe this was my life i'm living.

needless to say, joshua tree national park lived up to the hype in my head...just look at how amazing!
